I graduated in 2007 from Texas State University in San Marcos with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-4 and a minor in Psychology. I student taught at Green Elementary in 2nd grade. I've taken several professional development trainings and have a passion for teaching reading in the primary grades.

EC-4 teacher certification Elementary ESL certification Gifted and Talented training and experience 8 years teaching K-1 at Green Elementary, HaysCISD In my experience as a classroom teacher, I know that it is not always possible to differentiate for the individual needs of each child in the class. Therefore, I would like to offer these deserving students the extra time and attention they may not be receiving in the classroom. My teaching experience has helped me become knowledgeable in reading, writing, and math intervention strategies and the RTI (Response to Intervention) process. I also have experience teaching and differentiating instruction for GT and Special Education students in the general ed classroom. I understand the importance of planning instruction based on the individual needs and interests of my students, and I feel that tutoring should enhance and incorporate the content/skills being learned in the classroom.

Hobbies
I have a 5 year old daughter and 1.5 year old son. I chose to resign from the classroom in order to maximize my time teaching and raising them. Being a mom is my top priority and #1 interest! I have a passion for teaching others and appreciate the opportunity to continue working as a tutor, while still making time for my family. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking/hiking, working out, swimming, and going to the river.
